Community Celebrations & Holiday Cheer

The bells are ringing, the snow is falling, and the holiday season is upon us once again. It’s a great time of the year to give back and this year we gave back in many different ways. Local event involvement, sponsorships, holiday gifting programs, and donations are all activities that we are blessed and excited to be a part of to help spread holiday cheer!
As a Community Bank we’re especially grateful for the opportunity to be involved with so many wonderful local organizations. These include Hiawatha Homes, Salvation Army – Rochester, MN, Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity, 360 Communities, and the Twin Cities Ballet. If you haven’t had the chance to go to some of the events these nonprofits put on, we hope you’ll consider it! It’s a truly special experience.
In late November, Festival of Trees takes place, and this is an event that you don’t want to miss. It benefits Hiawatha Homes and is full of merry décor, including many Christmas trees decorated in a variety of themes. Local choirs and bands play live music during the evening and there is a gift shop with holiday items to browse. Check out photos from this year’s event here.
360 Communities is an organization that was founded over 45 years ago, near St. Paul & Minneapolis. Today, this organization provides services of support to over 18,000 individuals. Sterling donated to families in need through 360 Communities’ holiday gift program, Armful of Love. This program matches supporters with a family in need, providing a gift list to benefit the entire family at Christmas! Drop-off dates are in early December and it’s a great way to donate holiday gifts.
Salvation Army – Rochester, MN is another local organization that Sterling State Bank is involved with annually. This year we pledged a donation match of $1,000 to their holiday bell ringing program and our employees enjoyed the opportunity to ring for a great cause! Donned in festive attire, we had a wonderful time bringing awareness to this great cause. Want to see our volunteers in festive sweaters and accessories? Click here to see the photos!
Other recent Sterling sponsorships included gift wrapping stations, organized by Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity and the Twin Cities Ballet 2016 Nutcracker production. We also embarked on a 24 Days of Holiday Savings campaign. These social media posts highlight ways to save during holiday shopping and celebrations. We hope you have enjoyed them. If you missed any, you can review them all here: 24 Days of Holiday Savings.
It’s amazing to see so many people coming together throughout the holiday season, to support one another. Each year through giving back, we create lasting memories and experiences, and that is priceless. Sterling State Bank is grateful for the chance to give back each year to the communities we serve. Sterling State Bank wishes you and all of our customers a very Merry Holiday and a Happy New Year! Thank you for your business and your support.
