Live music, fresh food, and sunshine are the markings of a summer celebration done right. Thursdays on First & 3rd is more than just a summer market and music festival, it is a Rochester, MN ‘can’t miss’ event. Bringing the local community together weekly from June 2 – August 25, 2016 this event features over 100 arts, craft, and food vendors plus a variety of live entertainment from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the heart of Downtown.

This year Sterling State Bank is joining the Rochester Downtown Alliance as the lunchtime entertainment partner for Thursdays on First & 3rd. The Bank is also sponsoring space to showcase local organizations making a difference in the community. These organizations include: Family Service Rochester, 125 LIVE, MN Adult & Teen Challenge, Zumbro Valley Health Center, Olmsted Medical Center, Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, and the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, MN.

Each of these great organizations will be featured in a booth to the right of each entertainment stage during Thursdays on First & 3rd between July 21 – August 25. The entertainment stages are located at Peace Plaza and on 1st Avenue. Information on the bands scheduled to perform can be found here.

Over time it has evolved into an 85+ staff with more than 30 programs. Focusing on families with serious child welfare and/or family violence concerns has further defined the work this organization does for our community.

In the following week, of July 28, 125 LIVE will be at Thursdays on First. 125 LIVE, formerly known as the Rochester Senior Center, is in the process of building a brand new state-of-the art facility. They offer many great programs to older community members including: social activities, fitness activities, special events, educational opportunities, and resources & personal services.

Up next is both MN Adult & Teen Challenge and Zumbro Valley Health Center on August 4. MN Adult & Teen Challenge’s mission is to assist teens and adults in gaining freedom from addictions and other life controlling problems. On August 11, Olmsted Medical Center will be at the event. OMC has more than 20 specialties and is best known for its convenient, quality personal primary care. They have 18 locations, including two multi-specialty clinics, a Level IV trauma hospital with 24-hour emergency room, two FastCare retail clinics in Rochester Shopko stores, a Skyway Clinic in downtown Rochester, and 10 community branch clinics serving residents of Southeastern Minnesota.

Then on August 18, Boys & Girls Club of Rochester will be at Thursdays on First.
