About the Chamber
The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce is the leading business organization in Southeastern Minnesota representing over 900 businesses. Formed in 1866, today's Chamber is governed by 26 diverse board members. The Chamber seeks to build an environment where business can develop, grow and prosper. The Chamber also provides networking, marketing, public advocacy, and educational opportunities, in addition to representing the business community on economic and governmental issues.
Lynn's Service with the Chamber
Since 1985, Lynn Clarey has served in various leadership roles at the Chamber of Commerce. When he first started, the current Ambassador's role was split between several internal groups. Since then, the Chambers local outreach functions have been consolidated into the current role of Chamber Ambassador. Other roles Lynn has held include serving as a Board Member, President of Diplomats twice, and Executive Committee for Diplomats mentor. He is currently a Chamber Ambassador and continues to build successful connections through community outreach.
A random act of kindness sparked a fire inside of him that has not gone out to this day. He realized how something so little can mean so much to someone in need. This desire for serving others helped lead him to the Rochester Chamber of Commerce. Since then, his outreach has stretched out beyond the Chamber of Commerce into more personal connections with the community and the individuals striving to help improve our community.
